WHO WE ARE
We build what we've spent careers learning how to defend.
Expera is a small firm with a specific point of view. We work with communications and marketing leaders at F500 organizations in regulated industries who need AI investment to produce outcomes they can measure, defend, and build on. We know these environments because we've operated inside them.
THE TEAM

Catherine Richards
Managing Partner, Outcome Architecture and Executive Advisory
Catherine developed Outcome Architecture from a pattern she kept seeing: enterprises spending on AI and struggling to convert that investment into results. The structural explanation for that gap became the framework. Expera is where she builds the response to it.
Her background runs from building a design studio to shaping cybersecurity and global regulation narratives at Dell Technologies, Adobe, and VMware through billion-dollar transitions. At Dell Technologies she led the GTM messaging and positioning of the security portfolio through years of sustained acquisition and divestiture activity.
She was an early tester of enterprise AI platforms at Jasper and Writer, was a founding member of the Gold MarCom Award-winning AI Council at VMware, and now advises and coaches communications and marketing leaders at F500 organizations through Ragan Communications, where she serves as AI Advisor at the Center for AI Strategy and Executive AI Coach at the Communications Leadership Council.
She has translated AI governance for C-suites that had none, advised leaders who needed to be right under pressure, and built the case for change in rooms where that argument wasn't easy to make. When she sees a gap, she names it honestly and builds toward the answer.

Bob Mitton
Managing Partner, AI Transformation and Organizational Change
Bob brings more than 20 years of enterprise marketing strategy and organizational change experience to every Expera engagement. His background spans product marketing, partner marketing, and go-to-market leadership at VMware, Avaya, AMD, and Sun, giving him a firsthand understanding of how large, complex organizations actually operate and where AI initiatives stall inside them.
At VMware he was a founding member of the award-winning marketing AI council, where he helped design the systems and adoption frameworks that upskilled a global marketing organization. That experience is the foundation for the organizational change work he brings to Outcome Architecture engagements today. He understands both the strategic and the human dimensions of shifting how work gets done inside an enterprise, and has a track record of building systems that outlast the engagement.
Bob holds an MBA from the Kellogg Graduate School of Management and is a SAM.gov registered vendor. He is featured in the Marketing AI Institute's SmarterX Community anthology, From Chaos to Clarity: AI Growth and Impact Stories 2026, alongside 24 AI professionals sharing frameworks for enterprise transformation.

Lisa Perri
AI Trust, Security, and Data Integrity Advisor
Expera draws on Lisa's expertise when engagements require deep security, governance, and organizational readiness depth. In regulated environments where compliance and security aren't abstract concerns but active constraints on how work gets done, her perspective changes what gets built and how.
Her background spans product marketing and strategic advisory roles at VMware, Qualys, NinjaOne, and CA Technologies, with deep expertise across security solutions, GRC, Zero Trust, data protection, and IT service management.
